This atmospheric work by the well-known Austrian veduta and genre painter Carl Pippich depicts a masterful winter city view set in dense snowfall. Pippich, who studied at the Vienna Academy under leading figures such as August Eisenmenger, gained particular fame as a meticulous chronicler of Viennese urban life around the turn of the century.
