Described on p. 22 of the Catalogue of works of Pierre Vorms Nr. 485. The artwork is categorized in the rubric „Dessins“ (drawings) as „dessin au crayon lithographique“ (lithographic pencil drawing). It was created in Masereels time at the the newly founded school of art and craft in Saarbrücken, where he taught a masterclass on painting from 1947 to 1951. There Masereel experimented with a multitude of techniques fort he demonstration to his students. The prestent piece could be a result of one such experiment. In it the artist immortalizes himself alongside the tools of his craft. Its categorization under „drawings“ in the catalogue of works, put together in Nizza in cooperation with Frans Masereel, implies its uniqueness and thus its rarity. We humbly thank Mr Peter Riede, founder and president of the Frans Masereel foundation, for his support. Tear through the piece. Multiple small tears and kinks. STANDARD TAXATION
