This work, attributed to Théo van Rysselberghe, depicts the Chapelle Sainte-Anne church above Saint-Tropez in a harmonious composition. The arcade in the foreground acts as a natural frame, directing the viewer's gaze towards the sea and the coastline. Van Rysselberghe, who had internalised Neo-Impressionism and Pointillism at this time, displays a modified technique in this painting – short, concise brushstrokes, subtle contrasts and a deliberate use of colour that captures the bright summer light of the Côte d'Azur.
