In this characteristic work from the Accumulations series, Arman collects a large number of used nail polish bottles, allows their contents to flow out, and preserves this process permanently in transparent polyester resin.
As is often the case in his works, the artist transforms everyday objects into serially arranged sculptures, thereby addressing the themes of consumer society and the relationship between objects and memory.
The colourful bottles with their trickles of polish form a multi-layered composition with a strong aesthetic presence. An impressive example of Arman's conceptual exploration of materiality, mass and repetition.
