This assemblage dissolves the boundary between sculpture and painting. In his characteristic combination of found objects, colour and structure, a work of intense symbolism and physical presence emerges. The cross motif, interpreted both centrally and fragmentarily, functions as a formal and spiritual anchor point. Popov uses the materiality of wood, metal and paint residues not only as a medium, but also as a means of expression to translate themes such as transience, faith and transformation into a contemporary visual language.
