Sabina Bockemühl, born in 1966 in Solingen, developed an independent artistic position after studying in Trier, Münster, and Barcelona, situated between contemporary figuration, Neo-Expressionism, and informal gestural painting. Her colour-intensive painting combines expressive materiality with precise composition, creating multilayered pictorial spaces of strong emotional presence. Through layering, scratching, condensation, and partial overpainting, the creative process remains visible and becomes an integral part of the visual language. Recurring motifs such as figures, fragments of nature, and expressive surfaces explore psychological states between visibility and withdrawal. International exhibitions, including four museum presentations, publications, and documented auction results underline her professionally established position. With series such as Soulprints, Bockemühl condenses her themes into a distinctive visual language between beauty, irritation, closeness, and distance. Women in Art is an initiative by Fürstenweg Unique Fine Art that curated this selection and aims to increase the visibility of female artists within the international art market.
